Michael Derkach is an experienced finance professional with extensive expertise in corporate M&A transactions and post-acquisition management of businesses. His career in the aerospace, defence and general industrials sectors spans nearly three decades. He is the primary US-based contact for the firm.
Michael was formerly Senior Director of Business Investment at Sumitomo Corporation, a major Japanese investment and trading firm, which he joined in 2002 and where he was responsible for activity in aerospace, chemicals, industrials, power generation, real estate, transportation and technology. During his tenure he managed over $1.4 billion of corporate investments and divestitures, and was responsible for financial and operational oversight of over $1 billion of corporate assets.
At Sumitomo he was a member of the Board of Directors and Management Committee for numerous subsidiary companies.
He began his career as an engineer with Lockheed and General Electric in the USA.
Michael was educated at Georgetown, Oxford, and Rutgers Universities and holds an MBA as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
